At Pickfair Family Dental, we recommend a dental check-up once every 6 months. However, patients who are at higher risk for gum disease and cavities may need to see us more frequently. Even if you’re practicing good oral hygiene at home, you’ll still need to see a dentist regularly.
Our team will check for problems you may not feel, or are not easily visible. Many oral health issues don’t cause pain until they enter more advanced stages. Some of the issues we watch for include cavities, gum disease and oral cancer.
Patients at Pickfair Family Dental can depend on excellent service in a professional, yet comfortable, atmosphere. During an exam, our dentists will:
1. Evaluate your oral hygiene and whether it’s affecting your overall health
2. Assess your risk for tooth decay, root decay and gum/bone disease
3. Check your bite and jaw for issues
4. Take dental X-rays or perform other diagnostic procedures as necessary
For those who have dentures or replacement teeth, we still recommend regular dental exams. This is an opportunity for our team to demonstrate proper cleaning techniques and assess whether adjustments are necessary.
